York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a YRES Event Support Assistant—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves socializing. The YRES Event Support Assistant is responsible for: - Arriving independently to the event on-time and in professional attire - Assisting with station set-up and clean-up- Confidently greeting and directing guests upon arrival- Acting as tour guides to help families explore the campgrounds- Supporting camp activities and general operations as a floater- Monitoring water activity areas to ensure visitor safety (Lifeguards, if certified)- Helping families discover exciting camp programs - Providing feedback on the eventLocation: Camp Marydale, 5999 Chippewa Rd E, Mount Hope, ON L0R 1W0Date & Time: Saturday, June 6, 2026 Shift: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Benefits: - Volunteer hours count toward OSSD (High School Graduation) - Develop and enhance transferrable soft skills like leadership, teamwork, and communication - Gain experience and skills that are resumé-worthy- Free training - Free networking opportunitiesWho We're Looking For: - Minimum age: 12 - Able to independently arrive to work on time - Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn - Can commit to scheduled time of the shift- Fluency in English- Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks Why you should join us: - Earn volunteer hours for your OSSD- Complete your hours with us and receive the official Certificate of Recognition for Community Involvement in Ontario! - Access to networking events with our sponsors and partners How to apply: We're looking forward to meeting you!
